We can rejuvenate worn frets to better than new! Your notes will ring out more crisply and you will notice faster playability. Rounding the shape to its original crown restores the critical "witness point" that the string sits on when you play a note. Thus, your notes will now intonate perfectly. We then polish the frets to a mirror finish that actually makes bending notes easier, faster and smoother. Level Frets and remove deep grooves - You won’t believe what we can do with some badly worn frets. We will use fret files custom-made in our shop to level and remove deep grooves, dinks and notches. Then we re-crown and dress as above. Replace Worn Frets (partial) - We stock most popular fret sizes and can custom shape/size to match your instrument. In addition to all the above we will plane the fingerboard true and recondition it including repairing wear grooves and minor inlay repairs. Complete Refret, Set-Neck or Neck-thru - We will plane the fingerboard true and recondition it including repairing wear grooves and minor inlay repairs. Complete Refret, Set-neck or Neck-thru with Binding - Binding is the decorative trim attached to the side of the fingerboard and may be ivoroid, plastic, or wood. Gibson Les Pauls commonly feature bound fingerboards. The frets must be individually hand-cut & shaped-to-fit in order to avoid removing the binding. There is no longer any doubt about the difference. Stainless frets wear so much longer than regular frets that you will eventually save money if you keep playing the guitar for several years. One guitar that used to come in for level & re-crowning every six months has not yet shown ANY fret wear over a year later. PLEASE NOTE that stainless frets sound noticeably different than standard frets. Upper-mid and higher frequencies are emphasized.
