This method locks your strings so they can't stretch. There's more to it than they discuss here, but this is a very good basic technique.
A bit wordy but there's lots of good info. Bill's method is a bit less secure than the first one above, but it's still way better than most. These two videos can be applied to most guitars, even 6-on-a-side Fenders with modern style tuners. PLEASE NOTE: There are TONS of amateur videos on this subject, most of which are either incomplete or poorly produced. Many forget to give the viewer basic info essential to a satisfactory outcome - even some of the pros do this. And some are just flat WRONG!
